Topics #8: No Smell!!!

If I had to lose one of my five senses, I would choose “SMELL”. In my opinion, when I lose smell, it does not make me much terrible to live. I still can see, touch, listen, and feel. I can go anywhere, I can talk with others, and I can hold anything. Moreover, people do not smell all the time. Most of using nose is for breathing. They smell when it has something wrong in the air, or it has special smell such as food, fragrances, and flowers.
I had an experience of losing smell. I had a sinusitis. I had lost smell, when I got sick for two weeks. I could not smell every scent. Apparently, it made me very frustrated and irritated; however, I still could be as another person. I did not need help to move or eat. I just breathed hard and had headache.
Thus, losing smell does not make people awful to be alive. They still can do anything by themselves. However, if poeple have completely five senses, it is wonderful.

  1. I agree with you. Losing smell would help us get away from the bad smells, and the unfresh air. But, unluckily, losing the ability to smell would also make us get away from the good smell of the delicious food. So I hope it won't be happened to me forever. Thanks god, I'm healthy.

  2. Yes, smell is important when there is something wrong in the air, but it is hard to use taste to decide something wrong. If the food is poisoned and you taste it, you would probably never know the result because you are already dead!!!!
